The Ti Chulainn Experience

“It’s nice to go on holiday to a place where all the natives have time for you and nobody’s busy at all.”

Are you interested in Irish history, culture, mythology, music, literature, language or politics? Have you ever considered coming to Ireland to experience these at first hand? Have you the possibility of coming with a group of fifteen to thirty people?

If you have answered yes to these questions, then Ti Chulainn can provided you with the holiday of a life time. We will meet you at Dublin or Belfast airport and for the next seven or eight days we will provide you with transport, en-suite accommodation and a personal guide for the entire time. You will stay in the shadow of Slieve Gullion, Ireland’s most mystic mountain in historic South Armagh, where you will be able to enjoy the friendliness and hospitality of local people.

Here is a sample of an eight day cultural experience:

Day 1:              Collected by coach at Dublin or Belfast airport. Just one hour journey to Ti Chulainn for dinner and induction. Visit to local hostelry.

Day 2:              Tour of South Armagh with a local guide. This experience will cover the mythology, history, literature and recent politics and conflict in the region.

Day 3:             Visit to Dublin, including a tour of 1916 rising sites, Glasnevin cemetery, National Museum and the literary Dublin of James Joyce, Sean O’Casey and many others. Perhaps include an evening performance at one of Dublin’s world famous theatres.

Day 4:             Visit to Belfast which will include a tour of areas of the city which have featured in the recent conflict.

Day 5:              Ancient tombs of the Boyne Valley, Monasterboice monastic site, Tara, Mellifont, Slane, and more.

Day 6:              Carlingford, the Viking town which has more medieval ruins than any town in Ireland, and Inniskeen, the home of the poet Patrick Kavanagh.

Day 7:              County Antrim – the coast, the Giant’s Causeway, Ballycastle, Dunluce and the Antrim Glens.

Day 8:              Breakfast and farewells. To the airport by coach.

This is only a sample of what we can offer. You may prefer another day in Dublin; Irish language workshops; a visit to the Sligo of W.B. Yeats; a genealogy seminar; a day in Derry or a walk up Slieve Gullion. Just talk to us and we will tailor everything to your needs.

You may have full Irish breakfast, continental breakfast or go self catering. The choice is yours.
